Rishaug keeps talking about how the OIlers may have made promises to Pulju and his agent. How we've handled this kid would make a lot more sense if that was the case, wouldn't it? How we kept him on the NHL roster just long enough his first year to burn his RFA year off. How we seem to just keep him around twisting in the wind with no apparent direction. Was this kid promised min 41 games on the NHL roster each season for coming over when he could have made a good salary in Finland by developing there longer? His AHL salary is just 70k/season.

I really would not put it past this team, that has been just brutal at negotiating anything, to make a promise of NHL time to Pulju and his agent 3 years ago. Guess Pulju didn't have to sign the ELC right away. He could have done another year in finland, likely for better than the 70k AHL salary.
