I side with Pinder on his view of Smith. Guy has put in 3 acceptable performances, and now all of a sudden Wills feels the need to tell Pinder he was right all along?
I'll give credit where credit is due in that all I was hoping for with Smith going forward is for him to be as good as an average NHL goaltender needs to be, and he's done that the last 3 games, so no criticism from me. But guys like Wills make it sound like he's been lights out lately, and that's simply not true. Guy has been acceptable. Nothing more than that.
I get that Wills has a more personal relationship with the guys on the team because he's with them for so long. But at least try to be fair and professional about it, and not just a rah rah homer. I like my "hockey insider" to be at least a little more objective and critical of the team when it's warranted.
