Doing it in the off-season gives the team time to sort things out before camp and the chemistry can be rebuilt from game 1.
I tend to agree that Hanifin, Valimaki, Andersson and Kylington are staples in my top 6 moving forward. Gio is part of the core and Hamonic is RHed, gritty and defensively apt so I prefer them over Brodie.

In a perfect world we could keep all 7 but in a cap world decisions need to be made.
