Default Panthers 3 Flames 2 SO loss

The team looked elite for pretty much the entire season up until the all-star break, to think they would play like that all season wasn’t realistic. They built up a nice cushion at the top of the division which is important, now that San Jose is seeming to hit their stride as we’re slumping (the opposite of which happened prior to the break). If they’re going to slump I’d prefer now vs. limping into the playoffs. Our top offensive players are snakebitten, especially Tkachuk. Rittich has been below average for a couple of weeks now (Smith was great tonight hopefully he can keep that rolling), the PP is struggling and they’ve run into 2 hot goaltenders. No reason to think things won’t improve, they just have to fight through the slump. Peters seems to have a really good pulse on the team, he’ll get them out of this. The fact that they’ve lost 5/6 and still hold the division lead is huge.
