I feel confident that we have other d men who can replace Brodie and although he is having a better year, I am not sold on him and think it would be wise to sell while he holds more value than he has in the last several years.

Jankowski will be lucky to be a consistent 3rd liner on this team with the 4th line being more likely. He could play 2nd line on some teams and while his stock is as high as I think it gets and when the time comes, I could see his camp pushing to play somewhere else where he sees more ice so I try to make something of it.

What I like about Bob and Panarin is that we go all in this year but we really don't mortgage the future. They are off the books at the end of this season + you free up 5+ million in Neal and you can now go after anybody you want. I could see Calgary being an attractive FA destination this off season if we had the cap space based on how well we are doing.

Do you give up 25th overall pick to clear Neals contract?

Do you trade Mark Stone or Matt Duchene on a 5 year deal for Brodie, Jankowski and 50th overall pick?

While taking both deals above, you also get Bobrovky and Panarin for your current playoff run as an added bonus.

I understand this is based on being able to sign either of them but if $ isn't a issue and you are competing with rebuilding teams to sign them, I like the chances at getting one of the top players.

Not sold on Brodie? He’s proven himself as a top pairing defenseman over and over again when he plays his off side. Losing him would be a massive blow to the team. And he’s on a great contract. I wouldn’t even trade him for rental Stone straight up.
