Wouldn't surprise me if that was the way the Hurricanes dealt with that.
I have 3rd hand info that suggests it was just somebody who didn't have enough foresight to think about the Hurricane's playoff chances.
Nonetheless, there are plenty of season ticket holders who are not happy with this scenario.
