I saw that tweet too. That was more talking about the prospect of Mitchell signing before free agency, Huff's best offer wasn't going to come before today and if it was, it wasn't $700k +/year and that's untenable for Mitchell. He's got a second kid on the way, and needs to lock down his economic interests with this contract.
If Huff can table a competitive offer with the Riders and Argos, I think he signs here no problem (Better tax situation and honestly it would be a major heal move for him to sign elsewhere for similar money). It just comes down to whether or not Huff is going to spend $700+/year for a QB. That might just be a philosophical bridge too far him, but given what's played out today in free agency, I can't see the Stamps even hosting a playoff game in the next 2-3 years if they don't get this signing (Unless they get Jennings and magically the Stampeder way grows him a work ethic).
