Not necessarily.
People generally look at the goalie from the camera’s point of view.
Consider if the puck had eyes, what it would see. That’s more important.
That’s why when a guy roofs it over the goalie’s shoulder beside his ear, there are a handful of folks here who think it’s a great shot and not shoddy goaltending.
When a guy is in tight, space above the glove can be reduced by moving the glove forward a bit, for example.
(This attempted management of the vertical angle is something I suspect may contribute to Smith’s bellyflopping in part, btw)
