In other words as with the oilers, "much is given, but not earned!", The players don't have much to play for when the salaries are tied up in so few players. McDavid is probably not embraced as a leader among some players. Getting rid of Hall they were hoping the players would turn around and support McDavid but that hasn't translated well.
