When the dealer held my car they said I had to buy new tires and they would install them at no charge if I bought them from them OR elsewhere. I ended up having the dealer price match some where else and had them install them for me.

I think you need to have a chat with them about whats going on. Take a look at the tires. Are they falling apart and unsafe?

I'd prefer they keep you off the road if you have unsafe tires on there personally.

I was young and stupid at that time so maybe they didn't have the right. But when I went in and looked the tires were actually coming apart! I felt really stupid.
