I just completely disagree. Rittich looked shaken after that bad first goal and he made a completely mindless error on handling the puck that led to the second. At that point Peters made the choice to pull him because he lost the plot mentally and was likely going to be an adventure the rest of the game.
It's a gut decision by Peters, and I really have no problem with the change. However, what I would have done if I were him would be to put Rittich back in net to start the second period. Give him the intermission to collect himself and see if he bounces back right away.
But I don't fault Peters for pulling him. Not one bit.
