And it was a deal that simply didnt have to be done at this point......or that point....or ANY point during the season.

The value that club places on unproven and mediocre players is unrivaled in pro sports imo. Its not the McDavid/Draisaitl/RNH deals that are the problem for that team, but its is literally almost every other contract they have doled out or dealt for.

Mind boggling and difficult to achieve.
