Got me thinking. GOT premiered 8 years ago in April, 2011 well before the MeToo movement began. Would several GOT scenes get written and filmed if the series started today? Even in the first episode there was a brutal sexual assault of a lead character.

I wonder if movies and television, even cable, have been irreversibly changed in the current age of MeToo.
It's definitely going to be seen through a different lens. Go back to the first season of the Big Bang Theory and watch the way Howard treats Penny without cringing. Straight up sexual predator behavior.

I more wonder if the appreciation for context will be lost in a way we haven't seen before. For instance, All in the Family is still a classic study of the times, and the characters (Bunker) and situations (bigotry) are appreciated according to their proper context 40 years later.

I suspect period pieces, even those set in fantasy, will receive far more lenient objections than modern sitcoms. That said, people lost their collective #### over an off-screen rape in the 6th (?) season.
