For lack of a better example let’s say Nurse & Maroon. They prospectively could have actually had Hamilton if they surrendered Nurse, but they chronically overvalue & poorly evaluate players until the players have no value (Yakupov) or they can’t maximize an asset in order to meet an organizational need (Hall).
This is why they would never trade a defender like Hamilton who led this league in goals at his position because they would be blinded by their navel gazing beer goggles.
Except of course... Pronger, but then it gets back to the whole atrocious asset management.
