The most frustrating thing about Smith is his utter neglect in coming out and taking the net away from a shooter. Its like he refuses, he sits so far back in his net goals like the 3rd and 4th are going to go in. Look how deep he is in the net on this goal, its frustrating and legitimately why 90% of the goals he lets in go in. Even the bad ones that squeak in just over the goal line, he leaves himself no room for error that anything that trickles by him is in the net.
By no means did he completely cost us the game here but against any good team with him in net, the Flames need to score 5 to win. He should not be in net against any team in the top 20. Let him play against the bottom tier of teams.
Agreed with everybody who thought the officiating was awful. Also Backstrom should have had his teeth caved in at the end there.
