Said it many times already, but it's not just the bad goals, it's the timing of the bad goals. There's a difference between letting a bad goal in when the team is up a couple, and letting a bad one in when the team just tied the game, or had the momentum and pressing. With Smith, it's more often than not the latter, and that is just not acceptable for even a backup in the NHL. At least not a backup for any team that thinks it's a contender anyways.
