The Hull comparison doesn't work. It's all irrelevant because it was a different time and a different fiscal model for the league. Dube is a very important piece for the Flames because he is young cost controlled player in a league where cost controlled players that can contribute are the lifeblood to a team with a number of big salaries. I'm not saying Dube is untouchable, but the Flames really need a significant piece to push them over the top, and that piece will likely have to come with term that fits in the budget. Teams that trade away their best prospects and top picks are teams with very small windows. I hope Treliving keeps an eye on sustainability as he chases the cup.
