What's the point of being this purposely delusional?
Beg McDavid to stay, and hope he has the patience for a new GM to fix this. No one outside of those in the circle of delusion believe that players are stoked and proud to be an Oiler.
But what's the point of pretending players have loved being an Oiler for the last decade? Even as a fan, you should know players don't want to play in a dumpy cold city with a bunch of losers who finish at the bottom of the league more years than not. Why can't they understand that professional hockey players are very competitive people? Why can't they understand that being terrible over and over is unacceptable? That players don't want to sign up for losses and (sporadically) upset fans/media every year?
What's the point of preaching how great and fun everything is instead of demanding a better on-ice product players will actually want to be a part of?
