Did you watch him play in his draft+1 year? Puljujarvi was visibly lost. His hockey IQ is questionable to begin with, and he didn’t know a word of English. Playing on a top line with Gaudreau and Monahan would not have helped him, and it most likely would have frustrated the hell out of his linemates.

The right thing to do with Puljujärvi was to send him back to Finland that year. He was just far too raw to play in NA. I believe every other team would most likely have made this decision.
