Yeah, it's a balance but I don't think there is room to add a top-6 player on the team next year.

The reality once all holes are plugged is the Flames are only working with about 3M in cap space for next year before they bring in anyone new. Obvious choices for cap relief are Stone (3.5M), Ryan(3.1M), Frolik(4.3M), and Neal (5.75M) in no particular order.
If Tre can't move one of their big salaries, they are going to have to count on another big year of internal growth for the organization press ahead.
