It's amazing how this trade has gone from "Oh God we just lost our best offensive D-man!" to now where we as fans are talking almost apologetically about how one-sided the thing looks.
I mean, cut a certain way, the Flames got 2 really good players and the Canes got a streaky, injury prone crash-and-bang (with some skill) winger, a D-man who is -7 and plays a soft game, and a prospect who probably won't sign there. Ouch. Now, that's being intentionally discharitable, but still, the trade has made Calgary far better then they were, and I don't think it's had anything like that effect on the Canes.
Hopefully for the Canes, Dougie improves or they figure out how to maximize him, and Fox signs there and does well.
