This is sad to hear... hopefully they can find a nice corporate sponsor to help them out. And I hear the Alberta government is debt-free and has some sort of surplus
Honestly, this isn't even just about Canadian teams having a place to train. It's about attracting teams from abroad, and attracting tourists to the area. The legend of the '88 Olympics still lives on pretty strong in Calgary, and it's sad to see some of the venues deteriorating because the government (mainly) hasn't lent a hand in helping with the upkeep. I know Vancouver got 2010, but the venues in Calgary shouldn't be forgotten.

Isn't there some Centre of Excellence thing planned for COP? I could be just imagining this... or else they felt the ski jumps should not be included in this endeavour??

Hopefully there's way to keep 'em going... the American Race thought they wer cool enough to visit
