I thought the first couple of episodes were pretty solid. It didn't have the attention-grabbing feel that the first season did, but I think going forward I need to stop myself from comparing the two. Of course it's awful hard when it kinda feels like a bit of a cinematic carbon copy from season 1. The lighting, the storytelling techniques, even the trips and conversations in the car.

The performances so far have been outstanding, and the setting has that dreadful, dreary, gritty feel that was lacking from last season (the over the top noir stuff was hard to stomach).

I'm optimistic about this season. Good start.
