1.0... "Honestly, I see 600 goals and 1,300 points!"
2.0... Oil Change - here come the Oilers!
3.0... Three #1 overalls - "it isn't a question of if, but how many!"
4.0... McGenerational! "It's a big change in Alberta, and it won't be changing back soon!"

The inevitable next rebuild will be 5.0 IMO.

The one consistency, through each of the first 4 rebuilds, is the unbridled bravado - even though they hadn't accomplished a thing yet, each new iteration was trumpeted in with chest pounding, unearned accolades, claims of grandeur, and absolute, blind arrogance.

And that is why we should never feel pity for their fans. ZERO humility, despite being the laughing stock of the NHL for 13 years and counting.
How can Hall and Eberle be part of two rebuilds. That’s just growth or lack there of. A rebuild is when you trade away core assets for picks. Penner joined the oilers in 07 or 08 and Hemsky wasn’t traded away until 2014. Your rebuild 2.0 doesn’t really exist. The first rebuild didn’t really even start until 09 when they traded Smyth away.
