A) the player is trying to determine what his market value is at the time and what a reasonable salary is at the end of the contract. b) the Club is trying to see what works in their salary structure, what the market is and what the projected performance is relative to cap increases and the player's performances to date.
the offer is made and signed in good faith.
Sure the player can hold out... can the teams refuse to pay out a contract based on lack of performance? Or ask for money back?
