Could be pure speculation, and I believe it has been mentioned on here maybe one or twice. It's an interesting thought. Does he have anything left? Probably. Would he be a good depth addition before the deadline? I think so.

To CGY: Jordan Eberle (50% retained), Robin Lehner
This would give an offensively minded winger to play with Jankowski and Neal, and give us a solid back-up or 1/1A option while maintaining Smith as added depth and keep him around the team (wouldn't be surprised if the team wants to keep him around).
The requirement for that type of asset expenditure would have to be that both Eberle and Lehner get extended - Tree would have to work some magic. Lehner could be our answer going forward with Rittich.
