Shazam looks good but has brutal release timing. Captain Marvel will be winding down and hype will be a fever pitch for Avengers. It realistically has three weeks to make money before it disappears, and that includes direct competition from Hellboy in week 2 and people catching Captain Marvel before Avengers. They needed to get that thing out early in February.
A huge part of Aquaman's success was nailing a good release date.
