That's the right call, but the most frustrating thing is that similar goals have been recalled several times this season.
As for VGK's push, and the other Pacific Division teams this year, here is the difference between all of them and the Flames:
13-3-3
13-4-7
10-5-7
These are the home-ice records for the #2–4 teams in the Pacific. The Flames are 12-4-4 at the Saddledome. To be in the playoffs a team has to win their home games.
12-12-1
10-9-3
9-11-0
This is what separates the great teams from those that are merely good. To go far in the playoffs a team also needs to win a lot on the road.
The Flames are an impressive 14-9-0 away from home.
The Knights collected points in every single one of their last ten home games, and have won eight since 1 December. In that time they are 4-3-1 on the road. Since 1 December the Flames have collected 14 points in their last 10 road games.
