The Missing Messiah
Quote:
Will the prodigy start??????
|
Quote:
Was Patricks presence in the lineup not properly appreciated?
0-4 since his injury.
|
Quote:
He's actually been very good defensively, which often goes unnoticed by stat-watchers. He was also producing at a very good clip while paired with Lindblom early on (9 points in 10 games at one point), but the extremely terrible prior coach inexplicably split them up and Gordon didn't put them back together yet.
They should reunite Lindblom - Patrick - Voracek, which was one of the best 2nd lines in the NHL the last 25 games of last season. Patrick also had 21 points in his last 32 games last season, which is a very good pace for an 18/19 year old rookie.

Nolan confirmed back via their snapchat

Quote:
Okay.. today's the day Patty gets the monkey off his back and scores a goal
|
Quote:
I've posted this into so many game threads, but this time it's for real... gonna be a HUGE game for Patsy.

The Tank is On
Quote:
Hope Johnny Hockey gets 6 pts and Monahan has 5 assists. Hell, lets give Tkachuk a Gordie Hat Trick while we're at it. Tank for Hughes.
|
Quote:
Flyers are gonna get wrecked again. Incoming 6th straight loss.
|
Quote:
I’ve wasted much more time than I care to admit refreshing Twitter each day ever since Fletcher was hired.
|
Quote:
Can we somehow start the game down by 5. Or just shave off 5 minutes in the 2ed and add 5 minutes to the 3ed period.
O well #### it. Lets Go Flyers
|
Quote:
they are going to have a party on our defense, it's how bad it is.
|
Quote:
I have two questions
1. Do I want to watch this game? I used to look forward to the games, and this is a rarity because for once it’s NOT in the middle of the night (in Sweden). But given the Flyer’s past games I really don’t know. Give me some good arguments as to why / why not I should watch.
2. If I do watch the game, with what mental attitude should I approach it? Hope-is-the-last-thing-that-dies-in-man-attitude / we’re-gonna-lose-attitude /rational-and-analytical-attitude?

Quote:
I cannot remember when I was embarrassed to call myself a Flyer's fan but right now this team is doing squat. Way to soft. No fore check, no winning any wall battles, no taking the body. Teams come here and laugh cause all they have to do is put one in and this team folds up like a cheap tent. The leadership group has done nothing except get a bunch of good people fired. You want to fire someone fire Scott and give Homer a pair of balls and bring back Ron. I am concerned that our GM might do something stupid and move some young talent for some old players just to try to do something this season. It's over Johnny over. Sell and hope we do something at the draft and the off season. There I feel a little better now. Happy Frigging New Year!
|
Quote:
Hart or McKenna versus this Flames offense? Oh boy.
|
Quote:
There is not one redeeming quality about this team.
Even though they are league-average at 5v5, they are painfully boring. Special teams is historically bad. Goaltending is historically bad. Lame duck as interim HC. Kids not playing that should be. Girouxs prime wasted. Its the low point in Flyers history since Lindros joined the team.
|
Quote:
I want to root for us to win
But i don’t want to give up our recently secured #1 overall in the draft order BEFORE the lottery..
Oh well, let’s go flyers!!! Win anyway for ####s and giggles
|
Quote:
Is it wrong that I hope we get trounced?
|
Quote:
This team doesnt need losing and tanking. This team needs confidence, motivation, spark and energy - all of which has been sucked out of the team for years. This will take months to shake off and a draft wont help with it.

Hometown Hero Hype
Quote:
Game hasn't even started and we already hear about local boy Johnny Gaudreau
|
Quote:
"Johnny is just the best, isn't he Bill?"
"Yeah, Johnny is the best, JJ."
* rosy dimples flaming with adoration *
|
Quote:
Johnny g has already scored
|
Quote:
Johnny hockey is from south jersey?? wow. who woulda thought. if only one of our announcers told us that last time we played them. can’t believe they’d be so quiet about something like that.
|
Quote:
It's said pretty much every twenty minutes when the Flyers' played the Flames.
It's been rumored / wished for / prayed for the last few years that Johnny would give the Flyers' a hometown discount to come play.
|
Quote:
Anybody else glad we don't have to witness Farmer on the ice defending Gaudreau/Monahan/Lindholm?
That would have been lots of falling/sliding and goals scored.
Of course they'll score anyways..
|
Quote:
no worries, johnny hockey treated his teamates to cheesesteaks and soft pretzels last night, in honnor of his home coming. they will all have inflammation and be sluggish today.
|
Quote:
Johnny Gaudreau should have been on the Flyers radar screen as a high schooler. (like, duh).
What’s not well known is that he was sitting available in the third round of the draft when the Flyers took…. Nick Cousins.
Had they done better research in their backyard, or ignored the fact that he was small, the Carter trade could have been Carter for Couts, Jake and Johnny Hockey.
|
Quote:
Kids from south jersey usually don’t get much attention. Not saying you’re wrong, but he’s definitely an anomaly
|
Quote:
I am still laughing at how flabbergasted he was with Gaudreau having no hits and still being an effective player

The Clutch & Grab Era
Quote:
What Calgary are doing off the puck so far tonight is maybe the thing I hate most in hockey and hurts the product more than almost anything...
just that bull NJ Devils picks/interference constantly.
One on Konecny was not even subtle...
And one guy just grabbed and held Giroux along boards without puck last shift...
I LOVE physical hockey, but that crap just decreases the skill level, means fringe NHLers can "hang" with stars even though cannot fairly.
|
Quote:
If you dump the puck in and go chase it and the Dman gets in your way and makes contact to slow you down it is interference. They NEVER call it. Drives me nuts.
|
Quote:
Was that not a hook by lindholm on provorov

PP Performance Issues
Quote:
The only thing that could be more prototypically Weisean than that flub would be a literal horse eating a bucket of oats while taking a massive **** under the light of a full moon.
|
Quote:
Could audibly hear the crowd laugh at weise fanning on his own shot. ####s sad
|
Quote:
Dump it in you ****ing IDIOTS !!!!!!
|
Quote:
That was the least controlled zone entry I have ever seen.
|
Quote:
lol...4 guys in the corner
|
Quote:
how about instead 1 one guy hitting the blueline with speed....maybe try 2 or 3??
|
Quote:
They should start the Peco with all five guys lined up along our blueline, then have four of them zoom out and have the fifth guy just lob the living **** out of the puck and see what happens. Because that is Gordo hockey and Gordo is our guy now.
|
Quote:
Our passing has been pretty woeful for a long time - it's an underrated aspect of our struggles IMO.

Hometown Boy One Timer
Quote:
beautiful, highlight reel stuff
|
Quote:
Giving the Flames FAR too easy of a time entering the zone with space and speed
|
Quote:
Hard to believe future Flyer Gaudreau has been in the league for 5 years
|
Quote:
That was just a great shift for Gio and Gaudreau
|
Quote:
Glove side high(-ish) again, damn.
|
Quote:
Bad change by G leads to that odd man rush.
You hope Hart stops that.
|
Quote:
I called johnny g scoring
|
Quote:
How do we have all five skaters back yet Calgary is able to tic tac toe and score?
|
Quote:
o be fair it was Gaudreau shooting, and Jake did make it back in but then chose to cover no one
|
Quote:
Hit that little ****er, they were never gonna not call that Provy
|
Quote:
14-1-2 when he scores, Oh OH

Andrea Helfrich & Taryn Hatcher
Quote:
Taryn holds the mike with her left hand so we can all see ain’t no ring on it.
|
Quote:
So you're saying one of us lucky men have a chance? *sprays smell good in mouth, and clears throat*
Me;"hi tar"
Taryn; ew no
Me; *drinks bleach*
|
Quote:
Again Cap, you marry Taryn, and Andrea you do stuff you've seen on the internet
|
Quote:
Right, and since we aren't on a date sitting with them in a cafe sipping cappuccinos, or as I call them, Cappucinnos, but rather staring at them on TV, it is Andrea for the win, 100%
|
Quote:
Atta boy !!! Plus she is a good Instagram account to follow
|
Quote:
Andrea
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Taryn
|
Quote:
I couldn't care less personally, but about half of the horndogs on here start drooling when Taryn comes on and it makes me grieve for the state of our standards. Not to objectify her, or whatever, not that there's anything wrong with that, et cetera, yada yada yada.
|
Quote:
In reality most of us would just be able to get out a “hi” or “how are you”, if we met her in real life, while we give ourselves permanent sweat stains. She is beyond safe.
|
Quote:
Sorry but gritty and hot chicks can't distract us from seeing a ****e product
|
Hak-shell
Quote:
What's up with the shell...?
|
Quote:
See how they just pressured Giroux as he crossed the blueline? We would have backed right in
|
Quote:
It is INSANE how our D back right in. Stand a guy up just once
|
Tkachuk Clutches it Back
Quote:
Time to watch the Flyers scramble around for last 2 min
|
Quote:
Weal and Simmonds, watched him and did NOTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Quote:
Now these are the flyers I can get behind
|
Quote:
**** off, you ****ing sperm whale b***h, ****!
|
Quote:
all ****ing game I have *****ed about our D just giving away the blueline.
Costs us a goal.
****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Quote:
Looks like they way simplified their defensive scheme! Seemed to work on that play. Reminded my of what our mites coach would call “in the house” defense.
|
Quote:
How he got away from defending player (Simmonds) was embarassing
|
Quote:
Lets see how they handle this adversity of giving up another goal with under 5 left
|
Quote:
oh...but at least Simmonds was coasting and reaching with him legs spread wide open again.
|
Quote:
was kind of just waiting for the flames to tie.
|
Brodie in OT
Quote:
Holy #### Weal.
How do you #### up a 2 on 1 and then fluff a pass 10 seconds later to cause the 2 on 1 the other way?
|
Quote:
starting out just like any other game. they look fine. good in fact. and then they get scored on one time. then all hell breaks loose. and then we come back. and then we lose 18 seconds into overtime. and then we hate everything.
|
Quote:
Isn't that what happened last time we played them? Up 5-3 with 68 seconds left, they tie it up with 7 seconds to go then bury us like 30 seconds in OT lol.
|
Quote:
It was weal was in center ice and went after puck carrier then naturally no one picked up
|
Quote:
Let him go right into the slot
|
Quote:
Traveling and turned it on just as Simmonds lost his check. Sigh.
|
Quote:
JORDAN F****** WEAL EVERYONE
|
Quote:
Gordon is a ****ing moron. Why is Weal out there? He wouldnt even make the roster of every playoff team
|

Saltbae Spell
Quote:
More Calgary voodoo keeping the puck out of their net. I swear one of them sprinkles salt across the goal line before the start of each period.
|
Quote:
Yup of course flames tie it up late in 3rd
|
Quote:
Oh my god they’re gonna do it again.
Also, what’s with the Flames goalies being such dramatic cry babies ? Rittich again today can’t control his emotions . Goalies are supposed to be cool as cucumbers . Everyone knows if you can rattle a goalie , you’re gonna try and trigger him.
|
Quote:
A couple of Flyers players had their controllers disconnected on that one.
|
Quote:
He's got some crazy in him like Lehner. I've watched most of this one, both goalies have played pretty well but the Flyers could have been up 4 or 5 to 1 before Tkachuk scored to tie it.
If Smith was in this one, it's a Flyers blowout win.
|
Quote:
Why do I watch Flames games ? Why do I do this to myself ?
|
Quote:
Philly is pathetic. wtf was that??
|
Quote:
Flyers hockey at its finest.
|
Quote:
Flames 3rd period Gatorade fuelled luck is going to blow up on them in the first round of the playoffs.
|
Quote:
At this point I’m convinced they’re gonna do this magic in the playoffs too.
|
Quote:
I'm still convinced they're major over achievers and come from behind hockey is harder to do in playoff hockey. I also think they'll wind up 3rd in the division. Vegas is going to pass them soon and San Jose is due for another hot streak. Plus once the games get physical, we all know JG wilts like the delicate flower he is and is pretty ineffective in the playoffs. Teams let him wheel and deal now in the regular season, not so much in the playoffs.
