The term roost is applied for the housing of the birds or wherever they choose to rest/sleep.
You actually could refer to David Spence as a chick too, if you so wanted, because the word chick refers to the young of a chicken - regardless of sex. To differentiate between the two, a
pullet is a young hen and a
cockerel is a young rooster.
David Spence the “cockerel” just doesn’t have a good ring to it.
Back on topic: Rittich wasn’t perfect today but aside from his gaff on the second goal, he appeared pretty solid. I’m looking forward to him settling in as our starter.
