There were some comments earlier about Neal getting more of a free pass than Frolik but I'm not sure I agree with that. Neal was THE big free agent brought in and the top line wing position with Monahan and Gaudreau was all but sealed up for him given Neal's history.
They tried it in pre-season and he looked okay up there but Lindholm basically stole it from him and forced the coach's hand. From there, they dropped Neal to line 2 but as we've all seen, he's been unable to get any chemistry there either and has spent most of his time on the third line this season. I feel like Neal was also tried on the top PP unit to start the season but failure to produce has resulted in him now on the second unit.
Clearly, he hasn't been able to find his game as evidenced by the rotating line two winger spot with Neal, Czarnik and Frolik all getting reps up there. I think Peters has been extremely merit-based on his ice time allowed.
