I'd almost rather have Tkachuk tbh. He can get as many, or more, points as Laine but contributes in many different ways besides offense. A true player you win with. Meanwhile in Winnipeg, Laine is basically a one timer/pp specialist at this point. They can't trust him 5 v 5 and he doesn't drive the play like Tkachuk does.
