I have Jarome Iginla story....
Jarome, as you probably already know, played junior for the Kamloops Blazers. At the time, I was living in Kamloops working for a company that did custom embroidery, amongst other things.
This was during the era that Gretz was wearing the mock necks with his number embroidered on it, so all the junior players started doing it and they were having the embroidery done at our shop. So we had Blazers in and out all the time. Hirsch, Dominichelli, Nash, Tucker, Iginla, all those guys..
Most of kids were polite and humble, with a couple exceptions, Hirsch stands out, he always paid full pop because he was rude to the staff.
Most polite and humble was Jarome. He always offered to pay, always complemented the work and thanked the girls in the embroidery shop personally. There was a standing rule.. Jarome doesn't pay, ever.
He's a quality human, he's always been a quality human. The Flames were blessed to have him.
No player should ever wear #12 again for the Calgary Flames.
