I am very interested in getting Lehner. I was hoping for him shortly after his article in the Players Tribune. It's hard to overstate how much mental health can change a person.
As for actually acquiring him, it's almost a detriment that he's doing so well. It all boils down to who they want long term - Lehner or Griess. At this point, Lehner is sure making a great case to stick around.
The wild card is that they have a dynamite young goalie named Ilya Sorokin who is lighting up the KHL. They have stated that they want him to come over to the NHL when his contract is up, and it appears that he is eager to do so. It'll be interesting to see what they decide to do.
With that said, if the Isles decide they are set with Lehner, is Griess perhaps an option for the Flames to consider?
