Of course Detroit wants to re-sign Howard, but if they can sell him at the deadline and then bring him back in the summer, I'm sure they would do that. It works for Howard -- he sees the playoffs -- and it works for the team -- they get assets. I'm sure they would take Smith for a couple months if it meant they would also get a good draft selection out of it. It's not like they're trying to compete this season.
