Because a large part of goaltending is positioning. And all he needed to do was have himself square to the play. But he was still standing, with a huge 5 hole, and was unable to react to the tip from the guy right in front of him who they were trying to set up for the tip.
If he is simply square to the play, in the butterfly, then he would have had most possible scenarios covered.
The puck never seems to hit him, despite the fact that he is 6'6"
