The outcome of events which unfolded aligned with the results he predicted, but this by no means indicates that Cherry was "right." Had Team Canada scored only eight goals against Denmark last week instead of 14, would they have won yesterday's game? Were the players more reserved in their goal celebrations would they have beaten Finland? Who knows? But I suspect it would have made no difference. That game was decided on a couple of bounces that had virtually nothing to do with what had transpired during round-robin play.
