Once, I've had two tickets to the Ducks@Flames game sitting in row 1 behind the visitors' bench, right where the players come in and out of the gate. From a watching the game perspective, these seats aren't any good; all you can see, really, is the attack zone action. But, man, for everything else, it was totally worth it. I could hear Anaheim players talk to each other about Flames players and about their own plays, I could hear their coaches talking to them. However; the most entertaining experience came from the two guys in row 5 chirping at Getzlaf and Perry, constantly, throughout all three periods. "Hey, Getzlaaaaaf, do you wear wigs at parties..." "Hey, Peeeeerryyyy, does your neck hurt from turtling.... ". At one point, Getzlaf turned around and started to shout back, but then he just broke up laughing and turned back to the ice.
Overall, I can't say I enjoyed this whole heckling thing, but I sure have heard a lot of it that night and, to be honest, I did have a few laughs. I didn't know some people make it their goal to heckle other team players. Apparently, this is a thing for some.
