Yes he has played in the NHL but if you recall, he was only OK. His save % was under .900 last year.
I stand by my view that there is no reason to play him unless both Smith and Rittich are hurt.

Yes, they were 'ok'. At best. Not horrible, but nothing to write home about for sure.
But I like the thought of that above going back-to-back with Smith, who seems to have been struggling with a nagging health issue for the past while. Maybe ongoing discomfort from the groin pull? Who knows. But playing him back-to-back is a bigger gamble than playing Gillies one game, IMO.
