Yeah stats aren't everything but you can't discard them. His AHL stats aren't mediocre, they are bad and I can't imagine there any many, if any examples of goalies who have flipped the switch from bad in the AHL to good in the NHL overnight. Are there?
Yes he has played in the NHL but if you recall, he was only OK. His save % was under .900 last year.
I stand by my view that there is no reason to play him unless both Smith and Rittich are hurt.
