Frankly, I think the Flames were just taking the NHL's stance to heart. They determined that Dumba going for a devastating hit late in a decided game wasn't a problem. So Bennett did likewise. It sounds like others have clocked his hit at 0.6 seconds after passing the puck as well, which is the guideline. The hit itself was by the book, and Bennett didn't even come flying in for a huge hit late, he was chasing the puck and caught someone stupidly admiring their pass.

All I heard on the radio building up to the Game was how the Sharks were treating this as if it were a playoff game and how they expect to meet cgy in the playoffs. It sure felt like it while it was being played. But then all they can do after the game is cry and whine how the game ended.
Sore losers imo. Take your lumps, say you go beat and move onto the next.
