Seguin has a lot of red flags IMO. He got a cup right at the start of his career so he may not have as much of that singular drive to win a championship that other players have. His attitude problems have been known for a while as that is what made Boston trade him for a song in the first place. He’s got the endorsements, the contract, and he’s a party guy living in a popular party city. No pro athlete likes to lose but I believe some guys would be less bothered by it than others. Seguin seems like that type to me.
Plus his play has always frustrated me... especially when he plays against the flames. He’s one of those players who seems to be able to score when putting in minimal effort. His celebrations even seem to suggest that lots of times... he scores and shrugs/smiles to his teammates as if to say “That was easy.” Compare that to guys like gaudreau who work so hard to be better than everyone else. Don’t get me wrong... a player that can easily puts up points has value but Seguin is also a guy that doesn’t seem to elevate his effort at all to be an even better player.
