Not the best choice of words. They are not fighting for OUR country. If you like, you can say they are fighting for democracy - although that is a stretch - but they sure as heck aren't fighting for Canada.
Don't get me wrong. Although I may disagree with the government putting our soldiers in harms way to 'build democracy' in Afghanistan, I support our troops and admire their commitment, sacrifice and bravery.
