I'm not advocating moving Brodie right now at all for the same reason you just said.

But the same argument could be said about the myriad of players that have been elevated playing with players like Crosby and Thornton. Imagine how good the Sharks could have been shortly after the lockout if a team traded for Cheechoo at a "Rocket Richard winner" rate. Or if the Penguins traded "Olympian" Kunitz around 2014? Yeah, I don't think anyone blames the teams for holding onto players like that, but there's a case to be made that they would have been brilliant for doing so.

So I don't think that they should be shopping him for the sake of moving, but maybe if a team did offer "top pairing #1d" value for him, sure why not.
