No one is talking about "vindication". His six wins in a row were six wins in a row. He gets credit for them. He gets tagged with his losses.
One side of this debate only wants to look at his losses, and wants to dismiss his wins. The other side is looking at each performance.
The team isn't trying to prove he's good. The team is playing who they think will win. He just won six games, and was getting better with each win. Rittich hadn't been winning and didn't look as good as he had earlier on. It's not surprising they started Smith again.
