The Islanders played a hell of a lot better against the Penguins this time and got a point out of this game which was played in the old Nassau Coliseum. Both teams were defensive and were perfect on the PK going 4-4 each including a Pens PK in overtime.

The Red Wings can thank their goalie for winning this game. Howard faced 43 shots as the Kings kept the pressure on him through out the game. The Kings out shot Detroit 19-4 in the 3rd period. Kopitar managed to score to get the Kings on the board with about 6 minutes left in the game.

The Lightning are on a 7 game winning streak now and their top players are simply out playing their opponents. Stamkos gets the hat trick (2 PPG and 1 even) and now has 700 career points. Tampa Bay scored 2 quick goals midway through the 3rd period to put the game out of reach for the Rangers. Louie Domingue was in net for Tampa Bay again and has been a good surprise since Vasilevskiy got injured. Hayes with 2 goals for the Rangers in the loss.

The Devils seemed to have run out of gas in the 3rd period even though they were just down by one goal. The Sharks out shot the Devils 15-5 in the final period. Meier scored 2 goals and Hertl had 2 points. The Sharks win puts them in a tie with the Ducks, just 3 points back of the 1st place Flames in the western conf.
