Yeah, perhaps that, and the fact that when you start losing games despite playing trap hockey, everything is terrible. The way they win games by hanging on by a thread preserving one goal leads by boring everyone out of their mind won't last forever.
Everything comes up roses right now and everyone is in love with clogging up the neutral zone and leaning on McDavid to skate really fast up the ice, but considering the Oilers have barely moved in the standings despite piling up points for a few weeks goes to show that their success is very fragile, and if they go into even a minor losing streak over the next few games they might lose ground fast. Let's see what they think of trap hockey then.
I'll give him props for actually getting the Oilers to play with some structure though, which is something none of their previous coaches has managed to do.
