Germany does have some strange bathroom habits. At rest stops on the autobahn, there are people sitting outside the door who expect tips. Their only job seems to be to hand you a few squares of toilet paper.

My mother-in-law has signs on the toilets "Mann sitzt!"

Did Thomas Crapper invent the flush toilet?
