How has this franchise not learned yet to stop tooting their horn from middle of the tire fire? Do something, then talk about it. Stop talking about what you did generations ago, and what you think you're going to do someday. That is a recipe for embarrassment (and has been for you already).
I don't hear the Coyotes blabbing on and on about how legendary they're going to be - and there's a damn good reason for it. If anyone from the Flames came out with a similar video right now I'd be pretty red-faced over it as well.
The only people I've ever met that bragged about what they were going to do were lazy, incompetent and more than likely never took a hard look at what they were actually producing. It's pretty odd that McDavid would not only tolerate such mediocrity, but promote it. A winner, in my books, would take a hard look at what group they've cobbled together and ask what would happen if he wasn't there. A winner would be offended - not yammering on about how awesome everything can be someday.
That he feels compelled to yell this from the bottom of the league should speak volumes about how concerned they know fans should be. I'm shifting a little from "I can't wait for Conner to demand a trade" to "I hope the supposed 'best player in the world' wastes away his entire career with the Oilers".
