I can just picture Hitch and Gully brainstorming before puck drop. One looks at the other and says "so...any ideas? Seriously, I've got nothing. Are we allowed to forfeit?"

My question is with McDavid out of the lineup, how many forwards out of the Oilers lineup would you take on the Flames for free? Meaning without giving up assets in return? Draisaitl I guess... but he's making a million too much, not good for cap reasons. Hopkins is decent at six million. Then who else...? We had Chiasson before, and he wasn't needed as a depth forward. I don't think Caggiula is much of an upgrade over what we have. Puljujärvi I suppose, because he still has potential; but it's waning. Other than that I wouldn't go near them with a ten foot clown pole.
